If I Stay by Gayle Forman (Spoiler Free)

Hi there!

I was coming down to a cold and didn't have much time to do anything productive but here I am finally to write about the book " If I stay"

You guys probably think " wait haven't you already finished reading one of Gayle's books ??are you even a bona fide book lover ?"

I know right ! 

This book was actually a recommendation by a friend of mine whom I met when I was in QLD so a fun fact is that this book brings me another memory.

Anyway let's get  stright into my thoughts on the book.

Summary:　One day a seventeen-year-old cellist Mia with her father , Mother and her younger brother Teddy go out for a day trip on a snowy day in car.

It is suppose to be a fun trip for them but things  turn out differently.

A ROAD COLLISION.

The collision kills Mia's mother and father .

And after the accident ,Mia's body slips into a coma while her consciousness is able to observe the scene in an out-of-body experience.

She sees herself in a grave condition with being treated with an intensive medical care at ICU in a hospital.

Mia is invisible .She feels no pain but her body is fighting to come back to the real world.

But then to where? With her parents gone she would be devastated which seems to be harder than to take an endless nap for Mia.

At one moment she realises that wether she wants to live or die,it's all up to her.

She is the one to decide the crucial choice.

I have to admit it is not a happy reading it is SAD and depressing .

But overall the story tells a lot of beautiful heartwarming tales which cast a big smile on my face. The story has got only Mia's perspective in terms of a story teller but I think unlike other mediocre one -perspective books, this book allows you to get to know about what other characters are thinking so for me it is easy to develop each characters . Also I like how Gayle leads a story plot without directly saying A is B .

Implication in a story could be confusing but she's done very well.

Having said that , it is cheesy and could have been great so I gave 3 out of five.

Don't get me wrong I truly like this story and adore it but it could've been much better. it is a quick read and enjoyed myself but I wasn't blown away by it as many of my friends were.Maybe Mia should have expressed her sadness to lose her mum and dad so that readers could get more compassionate with her feeling . 

Because she is distant from her body so am I in a way so I guess that is the reason why I am not very much emotional.

By the way Adam is such a loveable character haha I like him so much he is such a thoughtful and romantic man. (I did not appreciate someone metaphorically brings a bow and says " play me" though.lol) Can I find a bf like him if I go to a summer camp? haha

この本はYA(Young Adlut)のカテゴリーなので語彙・文法的にも比較的読みやすいとされています。がまだまだ初めて知った表現や語句もありましたのでいい具合に勉強になると思いますし、短く読みやすいのでおすすめです。

難易度は中級だと個人的に思います。
